| | What's for dinner?January 18, 2012 - Kristy MacKabenI'm all about the crock pot when the weather is cold. It's so easy and quick to throw together. But, Scott isn't a big fan of recipes that include my absolute favorite ingredient: cream of mushroom soup. Maybe it's because I was raised on it, but I love that stuff. So, I'm trying to find good crock pot recipes that aren't so creamy. Here's one I found for sweet and sour pork chops. Let me know what you think. Ingredients: 4 pork chops, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup ketchup, 2 tablespoons minced onion, 1 tablespoon lemon juice Directions Heat a large skillet over high heat. Sear the pork chops until browned, 1 to 2 minutes per side. Transfer the pork chops to a slow cooker. Mix the brown sugar, ketchup, onion, and lemon juice in a bowl; spoon over the pork chops. Cook on Low until the pork chops are very tender, 4 to 6 hours. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | |
